Robert Butcher graduated from Bishop England High School in Charleston, South Carolina in 1990. He entered the Citadel that same year and graduated in 1995.
He ran track and cross country at the Citadel and was captain of cross country team and co-captain of the track team. Robert was awarded all conference honors for cross country in 1994.
Robert served four years as a field artillery officer in the United States Army - mostly at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was a senior parachutist and received an honorable discharge as a captain in 2000.
In the fall of 2003 Robert entered law school and graduated in 2005.
Upon passing the bar a few months later. Robert entered private practice. In July 2009 Robert and his wife, Debbie, went out on their own and founded the Camden Law Firm.
